Greenville Fashion Week

This past week was Greenville Fashion Week, and let me tell you– it was a blast! And it was BUSY AF. Literally. I’m talking running from brunches to photoshoots, to fashion shows and wardrobe changes, to runway shows to afterparties.

The day started with an amazing blogger brunch, hosted by a local, modern Italian restaurant, Jianna. It’s one of my FAVORITE spots in Greenville, and I can’t get enough. Not to mention the chefs went out of their way to give me a gluten free, dairy free, FLAVOR PACKED meal.

In addition to amazing food, I got to meet some amazing local bloggers, and catch up with some old friends. I was so psyched to see members of my girl squad, Lynsie of Similar Styles and Aubrey of So Southern Belle, and to make some new friends! P.S. please check out this amazing plate of GF and dairy free pasta.

It was interesting to meet a lot of these bloggers, to find out how we all use our voices and our platforms, and to meet people who really love the same things.

Also, it was interesting to meet people who totally act like, “bloggers.” And I mean that the way it sounds. I hope I’m nice to people I meet, if you get what I’m laying down. Anyyyyways, here’s more of that yellow dress (I am O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D).

Also can we talk about how cute this greenery wall is? And, for those of who you don’t know, in addition to blogging, my daily job/career/what I absolutely love doing, is copywriting. And I work at an agency downtown. Moral of the story, SOMEHOW, this amazing green wall ended up behind my office and it has stayed there since, no complaints here because photos, obvi.

So, after the brunch and the outfits and the storying, it was time to dash home and get ready for the big deal of the night, the #FashionShow. This was Greenville Fashion Weeks’ inaugural year, so it was pretty cool to be a part of it. I changed into a black lacy dress that gave me Mr. Self Portrait vibes without the Mr. Self Portrait price tag. I paired it with a Louis bag from my mama, and a simple pair of heels.

By the way, the shoes linked above won’t display in black, but they come in black, because I own both pairs….and the ones I linked are an exact match.

And, In the vein of honesty, I felt pretty self-conscious, like I wasn’t showy enough, like I wasn’t thin enough, like I wasn’t tall enough, like my nose wasn’t small enough. Looking at tall glamazons decked in designer gear can be overwhelming for a lil shrimp of an introverted extrovert. But, at the end of the night, it was so much fun, and I had my girls and my man to support me. P.S. you never see him in my photos because he’s always taking my photos.

Also, if you’re still reading this, it is HYSTERICAL to go to an event with all bloggers because literally everyone brings at least one photographer, if not more. So it’s just a room of men and women taking pictures of themselves taking pictures and it’s amazingly meta and so weird.

Well, that’s a wrap! Make sure to follow me on the gram to get daily photos, and check back here for a one-stop way to shop the clothes I put on this body I’m learning to love again.

XOXO
