I love this RuPaul quote because it inspires the badass in all of us. Be who you want to be, let fashion be a costume, or armor, or your truest expression of self. Let it be what you want it to be.

This outfit made me feel extremely badass, and very much myself. I think that’s when an outfit is the most successful, when I don’t feel like I’m dressing to fit fashion or what an audience might want, when I’m being my authentic self. And my authentic self loves band tees, denim, a good blazer and serious bling.

I built this look around the necklace, sometimes you have to start with the statement piece and work from there. I love the contrast the necklace provides against something grungy like a band tee, so this one was an obvious win.

The necklace is a beautiful BaubleBar piece, from the Shay Mitchell collection. I love this piece because A.) it comes with two necklaces, the choker and the long layered piece are separate, and B.) because it looks like a Dylanlex piece without the Dlyanlex price tag-holla at Bad Girl RiRi. Winning.

I paired the tee with a loose boyfriend jean, and these amazing shimmery T.Madison heels that look exactly like the Gucci ones. I’ve linked a similar pair from TopShop below.

I styled the look with a blazer (my go to third piece) to complete my outfit and provide a little more contrast. Menswear meets street grunge meets sparkle. I loved this outfit because it was perfect for meetings and carried me throughout the rest of my day!
