“Beauty Begins the Moment you Decide to be Yourself”
— Coco Chanel
Fashion is a superb form of self expression. You have the chance to be anyone, become anyone, to still play dressup. That’s something about fashion I love, that I adore. This is one of my all time favorite outfits. It’s comfy, easy to wear, and it’s a classic go to for when I want to feel out-of-the-park stylish! It’s only three simple pieces, a long cowl-neck pullover cape with leather detailing and an awesome asymmetrical zipper of course, along with leather leggings (a classic staple ladies) and a calf hair heel with leather backs.
I styled this outfit with an emerald green purse for a pop of color, to add a little life to the outfit, and just wore my everyday jewelry: a pair of simple pave disc earrings, a few rings picked up from eclectic travels, and my gold Movado watch. I love the sleekness of an all black look, it instantly glams up any outfit, and really brings out the wow factor. All black is sleek and chic, but I never like to go to head to toe, which is why I brightened this up with the color of the bag, and integrated both print and texture by having a calf hair leopard print shoe.
Being petite I always try to break up my leg by showing some skin, which is why I chose a heel opposed to a boot. I also always follow a true Parisian model when it comes to my heel height, never do anything halfway, three inch heels have no place in my closet (I like to pretend I’m tall).
I kept my makeup pretty simple for this look, a strong brow — my classic staple (from one Cara to another, Cara D. that game is strong) with a soft cheek and a slight color on the lip. The best part of this outfit however, is that all these gems were scored on deals. The leggings are from express, and the shoes, tunic, and bag are all from T.J Maxx. Style is something that can be found anywhere, and I never shy away from a bargain!
Here’s a super similiar sweater (p.s. it’s only $15!), snatch it up before it’s gone! Here is an almost identical shoe as well! Rock your style, never be shy of monocrome, and always remember clothing your form of expression, if it makes you happy, wear it.
